Here is a little belated update from our Australia Day karaoke at the Ming.
The only trouble with having theme nights on a long weekend is that a lot of people go away, so numbers are often down.
Oh well, the people who were there had lots of fun.
So come along and sing at the Ming with Sandi and Dutchy, and if you haven’t, why not try it?

The challenge is to sing Aussie songs, either written or performed by Australian artists. Our songlist comprises many such songs.

The grand unveiling of our Thai tailor-made jackets took place on December 1st at the Ming Pavilion as planned.
Since they were red in colour, the Christmas season was an appropriate time to debut them!
Taking this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas,
and thank you for your support in 2012.
We have just had a trip to Thailand and had two superdooper jackets tailor-made for us,
especially for the karaoke business.
Rather than wearing them immediately, we have decided to have a “grand unveiling” or “debut”
of these jackets
on the first weekend in December 2012.
Here’s a little teaser: a photograph of the gorgeous red material, bought at Spotlight and
taken to Thailand
to be transformed into our jackets.

Just to let you know there will definitely be karaoke at the Ming 29th September 2012.
Why not make a booking and join us for a night of fun? You don’t even have to sing. A lot of people come just to be entertained, as there is always quite an array of singers with varying levels of talent.
Remember, karaoke is about the fun factor, not the X factor!

A number of singers last night chose MOON songs to commemorate the fact that it was a full moon.
These included:
Can’t Fight the Moonlight – LeAnn Rimes
Moonshadow – Cat Stevens
Fly Me to the Moon – Frank Sinatra/Michael Bublé.
I was suitably impressed with Dutchy, my co-host, who took the theme one step further and sang:
Werewolves of London – Warren Zevon.
Other songs we found on our list included:
Blue Moon of Kentucky – Elvis
Moonlighting – Al Jarreau
and of course Blue Moon.
Then, adding to the atmosphere:
Space Oddity – David Bowie
Rocket Man – Elton John
