hallowe’en 2015

To cater for everyone, we had a Hallowe’en weekend rather than just the one night, with two opportunities to dress up:

Halloween at the Ming 2014 (2)

We enjoyed seeing lots of people dressed up for Hallowe’en. There were giveaways on the night, in the form of chocolates and lollies.  Plenty came along, had dinner, a few drinks, and enjoyed the karaoke,

whether they were singing or being entertained by others.

Thanks to all who participated.

Take a look on our Facebook page called Sing at the Ming. Love from Sandi and Dutchy

Join us at the Ming every Friday and Saturday, and you can be guaranteed that each night will be different from the last. We have a varied clientele: as young as small children and as old as 80 or so. A family-friendly environment, it is also fun for groups of teens/twenties/thirties/forties/fifties/sixties.

We have many occasions being celebrated. Some examples:

18th birthday party

70th birthday party

any-age birthday celebration

girls’ night out

hen’s night

There is a BYO wine license, with a small corkage charge per bottle. Banquets or à la carte selections are available.

There have been no cancellations of karaoke since we promised to commit to consistent karaoke. So please feel free to avail yourself of this commitment. Be spontaneous and come on down. Bookings will help ensure that we can continue in this way. Come and sing at the Ming with Sandi and Dutchy and lastly,

commitment to consistent karaoke

We have been listening! When bookings have been low, we have sometimes been cancelled. Unfortunately, this creates a situation whereby spontaneity meets with an obstacle.

If you’re not sure there will be karaoke every Friday and Saturday night, how can you decide on the spur of the moment to come on down and sing at the Ming?

This is about to change. Whilst booking is sensible, insofar as having enough staff employed for the night, we want to encourage spontaneity as well. Therefore, after consultation with the new owners, we are making a commitment to NO CANCELLATIONS.

To avoid a downward spiralling vortex, this commitment to karaoke is to provide continuity, but we need your help. Please show your support by actually BEING SPONTANEOUS.

So what are you waiting for? Come and sing at the Ming tonight (if you are reading this on a Friday or Saturday night, and live within driving distance of Mooroolbark, Victoria, Australia). You could even catch a train, as we are situated directly opposite Mooroolbark Station, in Brice Avenue.

Now I’m getting hungry. Shredded Duo Fillet in Honey Pepper Sauce on a hot sizzling platter, with vegies and cashews are our favourite dish, sometimes preceded by spring rolls and curry puffs. I’m salivating already!

good place for a breakup party

Searching  for a good place for your end-of-year breakup party? Look no further. Why not try dinner at the Ming Pavilion in Brice Avenue, Mooroolbark, an eastern suburb of Melbourne. Conveniently  situated directly opposite the railway station, the Ming is a perfect place for all sorts of parties, be it a birthday, hen’s night, Christmas, family reunion, engagement, girls’ night out, or any other occasion for your group, be it large or small.

Fully licensed, you can also BYO wine for a nominal corkage charge. Beer, mixed drinks and cocktails are available at reasonable prices.

You could order à la carte, or try one of the various banquets. One of our favourite dishes is the Shredded Duo Fillet in Honey Pepper Sauce, served on a sizzling platter. We team it with vegies and cashews, and usually steamed rice. Delicious!

And of course, the singing ! While we facilitate the karaoke, you help contribute to the entertainment by joining in. No one is forced to participate, only encouraged. Remember –

Karaoke is about the Fun Factor, not the X Factor. (Quote by Sandi Holland)

You may enjoy just singing along from the safety of your seat! No problem, as long as you’re enjoying yourselves, which is our main concern.

So wait no longer. Book now, on 9727-0688, to eat and drink and sing at the Ming with Sandi and Dutchy!
