A great night was had by all as we, Karaoke Kool Kats, celebrated our fourth anniversary hosting at the Ming Pavilion in Mooroolbark, Victoria, Australia. Thank you to all who supported us that evening.
Come sing at the Ming with Sandi and Dutchy, now on Fridays as well as Saturdays! The Ming Pavilion is a Chinese Restaurant in Brice Avenue, Mooroolbark, Victoria, an eastern suburb in Melbourne, Australia, featuring us as karaoke hosts. Come in a small or large group for a fun night.
Many occasions can be celebrated, from birthdays and engagements, to soccer club breakups or a girls’ night out.
We have had birthdays ranging in age from pre-teens to seventy and beyond. Sometimes people even book out the whole restaurant for their celebration.
Looking forward to seeing you soon. Call and make a booking, on 03 9727 0688.
And remember, karaoke is about the fun factor, not the X factor.
Happy New Year everyone. Hot off the press: Australia Day, 26th January, falls on Saturday this year, so get your Aussie gear on and let’s celebrate Australia Day karaoke style!
The challenge is to sing Aussie songs, either written or performed by Australian artists. Our songlist comprises many such songs.
So make a booking on (03) 9727 0688 and we look forward to seeing you there.
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie…
You couldn’t help adding the “oi,oi,oi”, could you?
Come sing at the Ming with Sandi and Dutchy.
Lock in that date: Saturday 26th January 2013.
The grand unveiling of our Thai tailor-made jackets took place on December 1st at the Ming Pavilion as planned.
Since they were red in colour, the Christmas season was an appropriate time to debut them!
Taking this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas,
and thank you for your support in 2012.
We have just had a trip to Thailand and had two superdooper jackets tailor-made for us,
especially for the karaoke business.
Rather than wearing them immediately, we have decided to have a “grand unveiling” or “debut”
of these jackets
on the first weekend in December 2012.
Here’s a little teaser: a photograph of the gorgeous red material, bought at Spotlight and
taken to Thailand
to be transformed into our jackets.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.

A number of singers last night chose MOON songs to commemorate the fact that it was a full moon.
Can’t Fight the Moonlight – LeAnn Rimes
Moonshadow – Cat Stevens
Fly Me to the Moon – Frank Sinatra/Michael Bublé.
I was suitably impressed with Dutchy, my co-host, who took the theme one step further and sang:
Werewolves of London – Warren Zevon.
Other songs we found on our list included:
Blue Moon of Kentucky – Elvis
Moonlighting – Al Jarreau
and of course Blue Moon.
Then, adding to the atmosphere:
Space Oddity – David Bowie
Rocket Man – Elton John
This could be a good idea for a theme night. Stay tuned!
